My Favorite Amazon Finds from 2024 (And Why I'm on a Buying Freeze in 2025!)

We went a little wild with purchasing things on Amazon this year—so many cool tools it was hard to resist.  Some made our space feel more functional and calm! Some just made our lives easier!  Here are four of our absolute faves from 2024:

1. IRIS USA Medium Portable Desktop File Box with Open Lid, 6 Pack (https://a.co/d/8vZT9U0) These are so versatile!  I used them in my freezer, my office and my craft space!  They are clear which makes it so much easier to see what we already had (hello, no more buying more printer paper!).

2. Magnetic Fridge Shelf Magnetic Fridge Spice Rack Magnetic Fridge Spice Rack for Kitchen Organizer(2-Pack,Black,25x9x11) https://a.co/d/8vDbxl9  Total game-changer for our kitchen.  The front of our fridge isn't magnetic, but the side is. We were able to keep things like our salt and pepper and oil off the stove and its still close at hand.  The magnets are very strong so it holds a lot and I wash them very easily Everything finally has a home, and I can actually find what I need!

3.Amazon Basics 8-Sheet High-Security Micro-Cut Shredder with Pullout Basket https://a.co/d/4cneNBH  Definitely a must have for an home office! We are trying to minimize the amount of paper coming into our home and love having a shredder, this one does have one drawback in our opinion.  When you pull out the drawer and it's full, it can make a mess of shredded paper everywhere!  We can live with that, but you might not like it.

4. Clever Fox Password Book with Alphabetical Tabs – Hardcover Address Keeper Log – Large Journal for Seniors, Home Office Gifts (Dark Blue): https://a.co/d/8NqDg9l  If you are like a lot of people - making passwords up on the fly, writing them down to remember them or just on pieces of paper everywhere, then this book is for you! Big spaces for notes and easy to use and read.

But... as much as I LOVE these finds, I’ve decided to hit pause on buying more stuff in 2025. Here's why:

I realized I was buying more products without fully using what I already had. So, my 2025 buying freeze means:

  • Making do before buying new.

  • Getting creative with storage solutions (like repurposing jars or baskets).

  • Focusing on decluttering instead of just containing the clutter.

It’s all about being intentional and saving a bit of cash along the way. Have you tried a buying freeze before? Or have a favorite organizing find? Drop a comment—I’d love to hear!
